When the heavens opened in St Andrews during the 139th Open last week American outerwear apparel company Zero Restriction, distributed in Europe by Premium Golf Brands, proved that its reputation for delivering high performance waterproof outerwear is more than deserved.
Approximately one third of those who braved the fairways chose to wear the company's waterproof gear clearly demonstrating the brand's continuing growth on Tour.
Amongst them was a 2010 Major winner, previous Open Champions, Ryder Cup players - past and present - as well as relative newcomers to the Tour.
In fact, the range of players choosing to wear Zero Restriction products proves that its product technology continues to evolve and is as cutting edge today as it was when the brand was launched nearly 20 years ago.
"No one likes to play in the rain, but when you have to, you need outerwear that protects you without being restrictive. The Tour players know this better than anyone," commented Grahame Jenkins, Managing Director of ZR's European distributors PGB, "when the weather came in on Friday the waterproofs came out and we were really proud to see how many of the world's leading golfers choose to rely on our products in extreme conditions."
The company's Patented Motion-Tuned technology sets Zero Restriction's products apart from its competition.
The Dual Motion cuffs, Expansion Back pleats and Snug Liner snap system all provide comfort and full freedom to swing.
Zero Restriction is also one of the few golf apparel companies to hold a GORE-TEX product licence, which allows it to use their 100% waterproof, breathable membranes in its apparel.
This also means Zero Restriction's products carry Gore's "Guaranteed to Keep you Dry" promise allowing golfers to focus on their game.
The quality of Zero Restriction was underlined at The Open by one of this year's Major winners who commented: "I have worn Zero Restriction since my college days and there is no way I would every change to a different outerwear brand."
